Gardens and Parks of London
Public Gardens in the City of London
Inner and Middle Temple Garden

These Gardens, haven of tranquillity and beauty, lie between the river and Fleet Street within the historic precincts of the Inner Temple.

The three-acre site includes sweeping lawns, many unusual and ancient trees, and spectacular herbaceous borders.

Parts of the garden date back to the era of the Knights Templar when it was principally an orchard, and these origins are reflected in interesting specimens of mulberry, medlar and a particularly fine walnut.

A broadwalk along the Embankment boundary, lined with plane trees planted in 1871, offers excellent river view.
